Our lemon pound cake is covered in a delicious lemon flavor icing glaze made with our Whipzi™ lemon flavor powdered sugar. It's moist and delicious, with a perfect amount of lemon that will tantalize your taste buds.
INGREDIENTS: CAKE
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 2 tspn baking powder
- 1/2 tspn salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 tspn lemon extract
- 1 tsp. Vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tspn lemon zest from 2-3 fresh lemons
INGREDIENTS: LEMON DRIZZLE ICING GLAZE
- 1 cup Whipzi™ lemon flavor powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream or liquid of choice (more if you prefer a thinner glaze)
INSTRUCTIONS: CAKE
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9-10 cup bundt cake pan.
In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl, whisk together sour cream, sugar, eggs, lemon zest, oil, vanilla and lemon extract. Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture and stir until combined.
Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool for 5-10 minutes. Put a plate or serving dish on the top of the bundt cake pan and flip the cake over onto the serving plate.
INSTRUCTIONS: LEMON ICING GLAZE
Whisk powdered sugar and heavy cream together. Add more liquid if you prefer a thinner glaze consistency then pour over your bundt cake.
