WHIPZI ORANGE POUND CAKE WITH ORANGE FLAVOR GLAZE ICING

ORANGE POUND CAKE WITH AN ORANGE ICING GLAZE

Powdered sugar can make more than just frosting!  Did you know you can add it in pound cake? By using Whipzi™ orange flavored powdered sugar, you can make the most delicious pound cake, bursting with citrus flavor!

 

INGREDIENTS: CAKE

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 tspn baking soda
  • 1/2 tspn baking powder
  • 1 tspn salt
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tblspn vanilla
  • 1 cup salted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup Whipzi™ orange flavored powdered sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups white sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup orange zest

INGREDIENTS: GLAZE

INSTRUCTIONS: CAKE

 In a small bowl, mix together your flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. In another bowl, mixed together your milk, sour cream, orange juice, and vanilla. Set aside. Using a stand mixer or handheld mixer, beat your butter and sugar on medium for about five minutes until light and fluffy. Next add in your zest and your eggs until combined and mixed together. Mix in your flour mixture and milk mixture, alternating one at a time until fully combined. Pour batter into a loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 45 to 55 minutes, or until center is cooked all the way through.

INSTRUCTIONS: GLAZE

To make the glaze, add your powdered sugar, and heavy cream to a bowl. Whisk until creamy. Add more or less whipping cream to create desired consistency. Pour over pound cake.
